The current generation of AI tools assumes the user already understands AI. That assumption excludes almost everybody. Our founder is autistic and has ADHD, and the company was built around that lived experience — the way lost context, configuration friction and inconsistent interfaces cost some people far more than others.
The working thesis is short: people should not have to learn AI in order to use AI. The software should learn it for them.
Two co-founders had a vision and an idea. Ideas do not build themselves, and this one was built with the backing of MM Pharma Limited, an established trading pharmacy business registered in England and Wales under company number 05554159.
MM Pharma has funded Bonz-Ai Limited since July 2025 and is the sole source of external funding the company has received since incorporation. It has been substantially fully deployed into development infrastructure and operating costs, and MM Pharma Limited holds a shareholding in Bonz-Ai Limited in consideration of it.
No venture capital has been raised. Rather than take a conventional round early, we went direct to the infrastructure providers we could not work without — including Cloudflare, Deepgram, ElevenLabs and Anthropic — and built the platform on those relationships.
The company's funding position is confirmed in writing by Onetouch Accountancy, Chartered Certified Accountants of Birmingham, from the company's books, records and bank statements. That letter sets out the amounts, dates and shareholding in full and is available on request.
Patents. Two UK patents filed, including the Emotional Watcher: chunk-level detection of emotional change and manipulation inside a conversation, and the guardian architecture that acts on those signals.
Trademarks. UK trademark applications filed in Classes 9 and 42 covering Zai, BONZ-AI, Ask Zai and the associated figurative marks.
Domains. bonzai.ltd, askzai.co.uk and mofy.ai owned outright across the group, with the matching mail domains, held since before the companies were incorporated.
Research-generated intellectual property is held by Mofy AI Ltd and licensed within the group.
